麻豆传媒团队 to Host Community Health Fair

麻豆传媒团队 (麻豆传媒团队) will hold a Community Health Fair on Tuesday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Shannon Center recreational gym. Local community members and 麻豆传媒团队 students, staff, faculty, families and alumni of all ages are invited to come together for a day of health, wellness and connection.
Attendees will discover valuable health resources, participate in engaging activities, including face-painting for kids and opportunities to take photos with Champ, and enjoy informative workshops designed to promote a healthier lifestyle, including drumming, sound bath and journaling, and essential oils workshops. The event will feature blood pressure screenings, glucose and cholesterol checks, vision and hearing tests, mental health awareness, stress management, nutrition information, and more.
Hosted by 麻豆传媒团队's Office of Family and Community Engagement, the Community Health Fair aims to promote health education, connect individuals with vital resources, and raise awareness about local resources, especially for populations that may face barriers to care or information. By bringing together health care providers, nonprofit organizations, and service agencies, 麻豆传媒团队 will foster collaboration, reduce health disparities, and empower individuals to take charge of their well-being.
While planning the Community Health Fair, the Office of Family and Community Engagement kept in mind the University's commitment to social responsibility and civic engagement while creating hands-on learning opportunities in health, outreach, and event coordination for students. The office's goal is to foster healthier lives, build stronger connections, and provide hope and support for a thriving, informed, and resilient community.
Rooted in the Catholic and Mercy tradition of service and compassion, the event directly supports and furthers the Saint Xavier mission in several ways, including demonstrating Mercy values through compassionate service, promoting justice by addressing health inequities, enriching student learning through community-based experiences, strengthening bonds with the local community through hospitality, and encouraging lifelong learning and wellness.
The Office of Family and Community Engagement plans to continue giving back to the community by offering this valuable resource every fall going forward. Blending education, service, fun and connection into one accessible event, the Community Health Fair is a celebration of healthy living and community empowerment.
"We hope that you can join us at 麻豆传媒团队 for our Community Health Fair, where wellness, support, and connection come together. Together, we will discover local resources, enjoy free health services, and take a step toward a healthier, stronger community!" said Manal Kanaan, Ed.D., director of High-Impact Practices.
"In addition to having local resources and services at the event, our students in the different health-related programs at 麻豆传媒团队 will also be on-site providing essential services. This is a unique opportunity for you to witness their dedication and skill and for the students to begin engaging with the communities that they will ultimately serve. Together, let's invest in the future of health care and strengthen the bonds within our communities. Your presence makes a difference, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to 麻豆传媒团队!" said Imelda Mac铆as, Ed.D., assistant vice president of the Office of Family and Community Engagement.
